Privacy notice
Effective and last updated: 20 October 2026
This notice describes how Techafrica Enterprise handles information when you use TechAfrica Business. The service's stated jurisdiction is Nigeria. For privacy questions or requests, contact techafricaenterprise@gmail.com.
Information the service handles
- Account and business details: business name, billing email, usernames, staff roles and permissions, and password hashes. The service stores password hashes rather than account passwords in readable form.
- Business records: information entered about customers, suppliers, products, sales, purchases, expenses, and activity. This can include names, phone numbers, email addresses, addresses, prices, quantities, and stock levels.
- Payments: subscription plan, amount, currency, payment status and reference, review notes, and any bank-transfer receipt you upload. Product images may also be stored. Paystack handles checkout and payment verification when that option is configured; TechAfrica Business does not collect card details through its own forms.
- Security and session data: the browser's session cookie and hashed identifiers derived from the request source IP address and, for login attempts, username. These identifiers support login and registration rate limits. Entries older than 24 hours are removed during the next login, registration, or first-run setup attempt; during an idle period they may remain in the private database until one of those requests occurs.
- Device storage: the app can keep cached records and unsynchronized changes in browser storage to support offline use. Those changes are not on the server until synchronization succeeds. Browser or device failure, storage eviction, or clearing site data can remove local copies or pending changes.
How information is used
Techafrica Enterprise uses this information to provide business-management features, authenticate users, enforce permissions and subscriptions, process and review payments, synchronize offline changes, protect the service from abuse, and provide support. Depending on the activity, processing is needed to provide the service you request, meet legal obligations, protect the service and its users, or is based on consent where consent is required.
Access and service providers
Business accounts are separated in the application. Authorized platform developers can inspect and modify records across businesses, manage accounts and subscriptions, and run SQL against the platform database for support and administration. These actions are recorded in an audit log; SQL text is represented by its statement type and a SHA-256 hash rather than stored verbatim. The service may send payment details to Paystack when Paystack checkout is enabled. The app also loads Bootstrap and Chart.js from jsDelivr, a content-delivery service. The operator may configure a private MySQL/MariaDB inspection mirror; it contains business and payment metadata but excludes password hashes, receipt contents, and product-image contents. Information is not sent to that mirror unless it is configured by the operator.
Retention and deletion
The current retention policy is to keep account information, business records, payment information, audit records, and backups indefinitely, until Techafrica Enterprise changes this policy. The app has no self-service business-data deletion feature; suspending a business blocks sign-in but retains its data. You may request access, correction, or deletion by contacting techafricaenterprise@gmail.com. Requests will be reviewed in light of applicable obligations and records that must be retained. This notice will be updated if the retention policy changes.
Your choices and responsibilities
Contact the privacy address above with a privacy request or concern. Business administrators manage staff access. Protect your login credentials and devices, particularly devices that may retain offline data. Reconnect periodically to synchronize pending offline changes and maintain your own business backups.
Cookies and offline operation
TechAfrica Business uses a session cookie to keep you signed in. It is configured as HttpOnly and SameSite=Strict, and is marked Secure when the service is served over HTTPS or its trusted server environment is configured accordingly. The service worker and browser storage support cached pages and offline work; avoid using offline storage on a shared or untrusted device.
Changes and contact
Techafrica Enterprise may update this notice when the service or its practices change. The current version and update date will be published on this page. Contact techafricaenterprise@gmail.com for questions or requests.
